Our mission statement: Heidi’s Kids brings our community together to be a beacon of hope—offering food, comfort, and compassion to those in crisis. Through kindness and collective action, we strive to ease burdens and uplift lives, while giving children the resources and space they need to create their own light.
About Us
Heidi’s Kids is a community-rooted nonprofit dedicated to uplifting children and families in the Greater Birmingham area through compassion, service, and strong partnerships with local schools. What began in 2007 as a heartfelt effort by the friends of founder Heidi Marimberga’s daughters has grown into a 501(c)(3) organization powered by more than one hundred caring volunteers. Together, we carry forward a simple but powerful mission: to ease the burdens of those in need through kindness, care, and community involvement.
At Heidi’s Kids, we believe that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and surrounded by hope. Our programs are designed to create spaces of comfort and encouragement, whether it’s blessing boxes filled with food, coat drives to keep families warm, comfort toys offered to children in stressful moments, Christmas gifts that bring joy to local homes, or emotional support rooms in Title I schools where students can find peace and encouragement during the school day.
The heart of Heidi’s Kids lies in the daily acts of kindness carried out by our volunteers and partners. These efforts may look small on the surface, but their impact is profound—restoring dignity, easing worry, and lighting a path forward for children and families. Parents, teachers, and most importantly, the children themselves feel the difference that compassion makes.
At Heidi’s Kids, we know that no act of kindness is ever wasted. Each one creates ripples of hope that strengthen our community and build brighter futures for us all.
